Jake, in particular, gives the effort his all. There is eventually quite a bit of self-sacrificial action taken on just about everyone’s part to protect and defend. Dolarhyde voices his admiration for the kind of man Nat has become.

As hard-edged and prejudiced as the former Civil War colonel appears, we find out that he saved an Apache boy after the boy’s parents were killed, bringing the lad, Nat, into his home to raise him. Woven throughout is a tale of redemption that unites enemies to save the innocent.įor instance, Jake and Dolarhyde come to respect each other’s strengths and are able to bring the Apache and a gang of cattle rustlers into the fight too. One thing’s for sure, the nameless guy knows how to fight. The ruffians see that as their cue to take advantage of a shoeless and bewildered man … but that doesn’t end well for them. There is also sight of a blood spatter spraying onto a pane of glass after it is implied that an alien has attacked a human. The violence is occasionally bloody and includes sight of a man being stabbed in the leg, without detail, before the bloody knife is seen embedded in his leg brief sight of blood sprays as a man is punched in the face and brief sight of a blood spurt as a man is shot. There are fight scenes featuring crunchy fist fights, as well as battle scenes in which the aliens are shot and killed, resulting in large explosions of green alien blood upon impact. COWBOYS & ALIENS is a sci-fi action thriller, set in the late 19th Century, in which a cowboy joins forces with a disparate group of locals when their small town comes under attack from aliens.
